Go South connects college students interested in meaningful work to organizations building southern communities. Founded by Yale undergraduates who call the South home, this initiative is committed to sharing the region’s diverse people, places, challenges, and solutions with southerners and non-southerners alike. We love the South, but we know all too well that few Ivy League students and young alumni see the region as an attractive option for living and working. Go South counters this trend by placing Ivy League students in summer fellowships throughout the South. Fellows work on capacity-building projects and provide critical human capital to organizations doing great work in their communities. We are a fiscally sponsored project of the Yale Alumni Nonprofit Alliance, a 501(c)(3) charity.
